Don’t just pick stuff up and put it down. Channel your
inner strongman and move it from A to B, far and fast,
with the farmer’s carry.
THE FARMER’S CARRY traces its strongman roots back to Christchurch, New Zealand, where it was
called the Fergus Walk.
Over the years, the event has changed slightly from lighter weight, thick-handled apparatuses to much heavier loads with thinner handles. The goal has always been the same: Move the weight as far or as quickly as possible. In either case, it’s a vertically loaded carry that can build muscular size and bone density.
