Did you ever think that more rest give you more reps?
Men who did three sets of bench presses and rested two minutes between sets managed more reps than those who rested one minute, says a study in the Exercise Journal of Physiology.
The longer you rest, the more time your muscles have to re-synthesize creatine phosphate, i.e., “Resting two minutes or more will allow you to do more reps,” says the study’s Dihogo Gama de Matos. Keep your eye on the clock to get the most out of your gym time.
